History of wontons :
Wontons have a rich history that dates back to ancient China. The exact origin of wontons is somewhat uncertain, but they are believed to have originated in the Han Dynasty around 206 BC to 220 AD. Wontons were initially called "huidun," which means "chaos" or "confusion," reflecting the irregular shape of the early dumplings.
Wontons became popular not only as a delicious food but also as a symbol of Chinese tradition and culture. They spread throughout China and eventually made their way to other parts of the world through Chinese immigrants, during various times.
Today, wontons are enjoyed in various forms across the globe, from the traditional soup-filled wontons served in China to fried wontons served as appetizers in Chinese restaurants worldwide. They have also inspired creative interpretations and fusion dishes in different cuisines, showcasing their versatility and enduring appeal.
